Endeavour's Homecoming
The still pictures are posted over at Slouching Toward Rivendell. The videos need to be converted to something better than QuickTime.

Welcome Home, Endeavour and TUSAL 2011 June
Mostly a gift piece, with a few strands from TW's "The Carousel," which I put back into the floor stand after the gift was finished. "The Carousel" hasn't seen any attention in a couple of years!

Inky Fingers: Variations on a Theme
I decided I needed to send out some "thank you" cards to some people. Here are the cards I made:

and finally, the one I sent to Doug Reilly, the artist for NCIS (the guy who came up with Caf-Pow, among other things) and fellow shuttle fan:
And thanks once again to the actors and writers and artists and producers from NCIS and NCIS-LA who took the time to join us at FanFest 2010!!
No, other than Doug's and the one immediately above it (which went to Daniela Ruah of NCIS-LA), I don't remember which card went to whom. Jesse Stern (producer), Reed Steiner (writer), Daniela Ruah (Kensi on NCIS-LA), Doug Reilly, Peter Cambor (Nate on NCIS-LA), Muse Watson (Mike Franks), Joe Spano (FBI Senior Agent Tobias Fornell), Brian Dietzen (Ducky's assistant Jimmy Palmer), and Rocky Carroll (Director Leon Vance) were the recipients.
It was a test to see how many ways I could use one basic stamp. With the exception of three other stamps (two more shuttle stamps and a USS Enterprise stamp) used on the inside of Doug's card (and, of course, the stamps I use on the backs of my cards), only three other stamps were used. Some solid-colored card stock, some patterned scrapbooking card stock, an assortment of plain and decorative punches, a couple of different "heights" of dimensional adhesives.
And Happy Anniversary to the Mercury Project!

Welcome Home!
Endeavour, from your 23rd mission, the 29th to the ISS! Beautiful landing, even if it was at the Cape!!

Godspeed, Endeavour!
NASA Image of the Day is a shot at the T+11 seconds mark. And, of course, there'll be more shots on the NASA website, and rockin' cool video on the NASA channel.
In other news, I got the call from my LNS that my Mary Wigham fabric arrived, so I cut my morning bike ride short and picked up my fabric!
And the 2009-2010 hockey schedules have been released. I'm baffled that the Caps will be in my area to play the Kings but not the Ducks. Seems silly to me. But on this California visit they'll also be playing the Sharks. Can you say "road trip"? Hello, Bay Area!!

By the time...
…I found out that Atlantis would be landing at EAFB, I had less than an hour to get to Rosamond from Anaheim. Well, without a Star Trek-esque transporter, there was no way that was going to happen! So I had some breakfast and went for a bike ride.
Welcome home, Atlantis! There's a great shot of the landing as the current NASA Image of the Day, if you're interested in seeing a pic. It'll be a while before we start seeing new images from Hubble because ground crews still have some calibrations and stuff to do.
