Stitch Class May 5

Today was the monthly open stitch class at my LNS, Needlepoints Ltd. And once again I opted to work on the piece we call "Margaret's Monochrome Madness." I finished one block which had been languishing for quite a while, and then started and completed another block.
I also photographed my three most recent finishes earlier this week:
I don't even remember when I started this Curtis Boehringer piece from his "Wildflowers of America" series. It's stitched one strand over two fabric threads with DMC Flower Thread (since discontinued) on cream Lugana 32.
Not sure how long ago I finished this Little House Needleworks design, "Home of a Needleworker Too." This one was stitched on ivory Lugana 28, with two strands of floss over two fabric threads with an assortment of overdyed cotton threads, except for the "thread" on the spool, which is stitched with an off-white silk thread.
A Teresa Wentzler is always a huge finish. This one had been started way back in 2006, on Lugana 25 custom dyed for me in their "Carnival" on Lugana 25, a fabric count not in their usual line (most stitchers use 28 or 32 count). It's stitched with DMC cotton floss, two strands over two fabric threads, with a bit of gold-colored blending filament (it was started with Kreinik, so it was finished with Kreinik) for the poles.

I still haven't found my Mary Wigham.

  1. What great finishes, Darla! And I love your WIP Margaret, it looks like it has great texture to it. I hope your MW shows up soon, when you least expect there it will be!
